Our Pediatric Trauma and Burn Team

Lillian F. Liao, MD, MPHLillian F. Liao, MD, MPH

Dr. Liao completed her undergraduate training in economics with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of the Dean’s Scholars Program. Her interest in how people make everyday life choices led her to pursue graduate studies in microeconomic theory and subsequently, health economics. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health in Houston. Dr. Liao completed her medical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2004, and her surgical residency in 2010. She pursued additional fellowship training in trauma and critical care, and joined the trauma faculty at the Health Science Center in 2011. Dr. Liao’s primary clinical and research interests are in vascular trauma, pediatric trauma and burn, and injury prevention/patient education. She is currently the Pediatric Trauma and Burn Program director at University Hospital.

Ms. Loquias earned her master’s of science in nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2005, and is certified as a family nurse practitioner. Amanda joined the Division of Trauma (full-time) in March 2009. Ms. Loquias has extensive experience with the complex management of pediatric burn patients. With over eight years of advanced nursing experience, she serves as one of our nurse practitioners taking care of our pediatric trauma, burn and emergency surgery patients.

Jenny Oliver, RN, BSNJenny Oliver, RN, BSN
Assistant director of Pediatric Trauma and Burn Program at University Hospital
Ms. Oliver has over 10 years of experience working with pediatric patients. Ms. Oliver is especially interested in improving patient care and programs directed at process improvement. She has the breadth and depth of knowledge required to care for complex Pediatric Trauma and Burn patients.  She has been working with the Pediatric Trauma and Burn Program for over 5 years.

Family nurse practitioner
Ms. McCollow earned her master’s of science in nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2001, and is certified as a family nurse practitioner. She joined the Division of Trauma in May 2006. With over 12 years of advanced practice nursing experience, she serves as one of the nurse practitioners with the resident team, providing care to our trauma and emergency surgery patients. She has special interest in the management of pediatric trauma and burn injuries.
