Dr. Assanasen is a graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine Health Science Center and his pediatric hematology/oncology clinical fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Gregory J. Aune, MDDr. Gregory J. Aune
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, UT Health San Antonio

Dr. Aune is a graduate at of University of Texas at Houston in Houston, Texas. He completed his pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his pediatric hematology/oncology clinical fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Aune has special clinical and research interests in cardiovascular disease in long-term childhood cancer survivors, survivorship, mouse models of chemotherapy and radiation-induced cardiotoxicity, miRNAs, and ventricular remodeling. Read more about Dr. Gregory J. Aune.

 

Melissa J. Frei-Jones, MDDr. Melissa J. Frei-Jones

Dr. Frei-Jones is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and her pediatric hematology/oncology clinical fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis.

Dr. Allison C. Grimes, MDDr. Allison C. Grimes
Assistant Professor in Pediatrics, UT Health San Antonio

Dr. Grimes is a graduate of UT Health San Antonio. She also completed her residency in Pediatrics and her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.

Dr. Grimes has special clinical interests in Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology and the genetic factors associated with chemotherapy-induced pancreatitis. Read more about Dr. Allison C. Grimes.

 

Anne-Marie Langevin, MDDr. Anne-Marie Langevin
Professor of Pediatrics, UT Health San Antonio
Clinical and Interim Greehey Oncology Chair

Dr. Anne-Marie Langevin is a graduate of the University of Montreal. She completed her residency in internal medicine and hematology at the Hospital Maisonneuve Rosemont, Hotel-Dieu de Montreal and Hospital Ste-Justine. She later completed her pediatric hematology/oncology clinical fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada and a fellowship in drug development at the University of North Carolina.

Dr. Langevin serves as the Principle Investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group site and NCI-NORP site. She is co-principle investigator for the POETIC consortium site at the South Texas Pediatric Blood & Cancer Center. She has a special interest in drug development in pediatric oncology, development of cancer control studies in pediatric oncology, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, and solid tumors in children, adolescents and young adults. Shafqat Shah, MDDr. Shafqat Shah
Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics, UT Health San Antonio

Dr. Shafqat Shah is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Emory University of Atlanta and her pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at UT Health San Antonio.

Dr. Shah has a special clinical interest in childhood cancer survivorship, Neurofibromatosis,  and neuro-oncology. Read more about Dr. Shah.

Dr. Aaron Sugalski is a graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Missouri. He completed his pediatric residency and his pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at UT Health San Antonio.

Dr. Gail E. Tomlinson is a graduate of George Washington University Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center of Washington, DC and her pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center of Dallas.

Dr. Tomlinson has a special clinical and research interests in genetic predisposition to cancer, hepatoblastoma, hereditary breast cancer, pediatric tumors and population-specific aspects of childhood cancer. Read more about Dr. Tomlinson.
